Quality Assurance
What We Do > Quality Assurance
We regularly conduct quality assurance (QA) activities to optimize the quality of care provided to our major trauma patients and the performance of our provincial trauma system. These activities include surveys, needs assessments, and evaluations of patient outcomes and key performance indicators. We also perform routine QA checks on the collection of trauma in the Nova Scotia Trauma Registry.
In 2023, Trauma Nova Scotia formalized the Nova Scotia Quality Improvement & Safety (QIS) Council. This council ensures leadership oversight of quality improvement and safety activities to maintain and improve quality or standards of health service within the the province.
