​Part of NSH Trauma Program's mission includes helping lead Injury Prevention initiatives with other key stakeholders. Therefore, Trauma Nova Scotia is working together with stakeholders across Nova Scotia and beyond to plan, implement, and evaluate prevention Initiatives and research. ​

Engagement

Bill C-277: An Act to establish a national strategy on brain injuries

Since November 2021, Bill C-277 has been with the House of Commons for consideration. The Bill was referred to the Standing Committee on Health in the summer of 2024.

Trauma Nova Scotia has submitted a brief to the Standing Committee on Health to formally show support for a national strategy on brain injuries. Special thanks to the Nova Scotia ABI Provincial Network for their contributions to this brief.
